Heather View

We support an independent and active lifestyle

Located close to The Crowborough Cross, Heather View is situated on the A26 and is within walking distance of Crowborough town centre.

Built on the site of the former Winston Manor Hotel, the name Heather View was chosen by one of the children at the Sir Henry Fermor School, which is located in the town.

Designed around a village concept, the home features Tea on the Green tea room, Doyle’s coffee shop, a village store and a post box all set around a ‘village green’./images/profile_pics/heather_view_village_green.jpg

Residents are also able to enjoy the use of a hairdressers, library and cinema.

Services are also frequently held in our spiritual room for those with religious beliefs.

When the weather is fine, residents and their families can enjoy the outdoors in the home’s gardens and enclosed courtyards. Whether it’s a stroll, tea with friends alfresco, a quiet rest on one of the benches or a spot of gardening in the raised flowerbeds, our gardens offer plenty for residents and their guests to enjoy.

All bedrooms are en-suite and are furnished to a high standard with a light, airy feel. At Care UK we believe in individuality and we encourage families to help our residents to personalise their room as much as possible and create an environment as unique as the person living there.

Each room has as standard:

  • an en-suite with shower, toilet and hand basin
  • a telephone socket and a 22” television
  • 24-hour nurse call
  • thermostatically-controlled radiators
  • a smoke detector

We believe that meal times are social occasions to be looked forward to and enjoyed. Every day, our chef prepares fresh, seasonal, home cooked food that is both nutritious and tasty. We know meals are an important part of the day, so each menu will offer plenty of choice and reflect residents’ individual preferences.

At Care UK we aim to support an independent and active lifestyle. We believe in celebrating our residents’ abilities whatever they might be and we promote each person’s individuality and right to choose.

Activity Based Care is at the core of our philosophy and enables our residents to continue to enjoy those activities that have been an important part of their life. The achievements of our residents are our own measure of success.

At Heather View, staff work closely with residents to preserve a variety of life skills previously enjoyed at home such as tending a vegetable garden, helping in the office or enjoying favourite hobbies.

Our aim is to move away from care as ‘doing for’, towards a more creative, adaptable and beneficial ‘doing with’ approach.
