All-weather pitch still on cards

Uckfield could get an all-weather games pitch as part of a new building scheme at the community technology college.

Town councillors will be told on Monday there are still uncertainties about the project.

A report from Cllr Dorothy Sparks to the environment and leisure committee says the college is waiting for the result of a bid for new buildings, a scheme which would also provide the pitch.

College principal, Hugh Hennebry supports the idea of an all-weather games pitch. The report says he believes funding will be available from other sources, even if the college does not get the new building money.
