Bazaar nets nearly £4,000 for Uckfield's Holy Cross Church
Nearly £4,000 was raised by Holy Cross Church, Uckfield, at its Christmas bazaar on Saturday.
The fair was opened by Allan Todd, of Uckfield Rugby Club Founding Fathers, who have this year given tremendous support in donating money for the church clock restoration fund.
The aim of the day was to raise funds for the church to help meet the £80,000 needed each year to keep the parish church open (this does not include repairs to the fabric of the building).
There were 25 stalls including one by The Crafty Ladies who had a great display of all their Christmas gifts and crafts.
Other stalls included cakes, hampers, decorations, preserves, toys, cards, jewellery, plants and flowers. Jimmy the Jester kept children and their parents entertained.
Thanks to Ron Hill for the photographs which show (top) the Rev Chris Howarth and Allan Todd; (below) June Wedlake, Lesley Copus and Viv Davis; and (bottom) Jimmy the Juggling Jester with children at his workshop.
