Bluebell Railway's Bernard Holden celebrates his 103rd birthday

Bernard Holden, one of the driving forces behind the Bluebell Railway’s success story, has celebrated his 103rd birthday at Lydfords nursing home at East Hoathly./images/2011_march/bernard_holden_2.jpg

Mr Holden MBE is still following the advice given to him by The Queen when he received his honour.

She said: “Keep up the good work”.

He is looking forward to when the Bluebell extension reaches East Grinstead and connects the preserved steam line with main line services.
