Bid to build 15m turbine
A planning application to build a wind turbine at Blackboys has been lodged with Wealden District Council.
The 5kw turbine would be mounted on a free-standing 15m galvanised steel mast. The turbine has a rotor diameter of 5.4m.
Documents submitted to the council with the application for a site at Brookhouse, Nursery Lane, Blackboys, say the turbine is designed to reduce the property’s carbon emissions and energy bills and to increase self-sufficiency in terms of electricity production.
The electricity generated will supply a home and an agricultural holding.
The council has granted planning permission for a similar scale turbine at Spoods Farm, 600m to the north of the application site.
