Warning from fire service follows blaze in Uckfield
Firefighters who tackled a blaze in Anvil Close, Uckfield, last week said it was caused by a strimmer being filled with petrol when it was hot after use.
Twenty-three firefighters from Uckfield and Crowborough tackled the blaze which spread from a shed to a semi-detached house and a neighbour's shed.
A warning has since been issued by East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service that garden appliances should not be filled with petrol after use. They have also warned of the dangers of putting petrol on a barbecue to help ignite it.
