Boundary review proposes new Uckfield constituency
The Boundary Commission is proposing the creation of a new Uckfield constituency.
The idea is to include 12 wards from the existing Wealden constituency and ten from the existing Lewes constituency – covering the coastal towns Newhaven and Seaford and the Newick ward in the west.
The new constituency would extend to the Kent county boundary in the north. It would cover the coastal towns of Newhaven and Seaford in the south and Newick ward in the west of the existing Lewes constituency in the west.
See the full Boundary Commision proposals here. Uckfield is mentioned on page 11. Proposals can also be inspected at Uckfield Library.
A 12-week period of consultation on the Commission's initial proposals ends on Monday, December 5.
