Two East Sussex councils combine building control services
Wealden District Council and Eastbourne Borough Council have combined their building control services used by architects and builders to reduce costs.
The new organisation will be called the East Sussex Building Control Partnership. It will initially be based at the Wealden offices in Crowborough before moving to Hailsham in the summer of 2012.
The building control manager is to be Mark . He said: "Combining the two services will help us to reduce our overheads to provide our customers with a good value, consistent approach to building control.
"The partnership brings together the combined expertise of both councils, covering both urban and rural environments. We can provide a cost-effective solution to ensure a wide range of building regulations can be met thorugh local solutions."
