Changes to Uckfield buses

Changes in bus services in the Uckfield area come into operation from the start of next month. East Sussex County Council has re-negotiated bus contracts across many areas of the county to “secure a bus network that is broadly the same as it is now, but costs less to run”.

Councillor Carl Maynard, Lead Cabinet Member for Economy, Transport and Environment said: “In a rural county like ours we know how important the bus service is to people. And in carrying out this review we wanted to provide the best service possible whilst providing value-for-money.

"The new bus service contracts have been awarded for five years with a possible two-year extension so local people can feel assured that they will not have to worry about a similar process next year.”

We reported in May on the planned changes. See here
