Demolition under way in Buxted
Demolition of derelict industrial premises in the heart of Buxted is going on apace this week.
The site in Gordon Road has planning permission from Wealden District Council for four terraced homes, including “affordable housing”.
When granting planning permission last year the council noted: “The access constraints to the site and condition of the buildings mean that it has been satisfactorily demonstrated that the buildings are redundant for employment purposes.”
The council said the change to residential use was in the “public interest”.
