Uckfield carnival money to be distributed in November
Money collected by Uckfield Bonfire and Carnival Society at the weekend will be distributed to local charities in November.
About £4,300 was raised, about £200 down on a year ago.
First in line for grants will be groups which assisted the bonfire society at the fireworks display and on carnival night when thousands of people saw the spectacular torchlight processions make their way through the town centre.
There's no let up in the action for society members.
On Saturday they will be at the Crowborough festivities while next Tuesday members will sit down at a meeting to start planning the 2011 Uckfield carnival.
The bonfire carol service at Uckfield, which rounds off the season in Sussex, will be held at Holy Cross Church on Sunday, December 5.
