Top darts players take part in charity evening at Uckfield Club

Top darts players Gary Anderson, Justin Pipe, Adrian Gray and Andy Relf came to Uckfield on Saturday to take part in a charity darts evening.

The event at The Uckfield Club raised nearly £1,500 for the Children with Cancer Fund.

The evening was organised in memory of Josie Neale, who died aged 13 last year after suffering from cancer. Her parents are club members Richard and Helen Neale.

Mr Neale said: "To get a star like Gary to come down is unbelievable, and also Justin and Adrian. They were fantastic. Gary had a busy week, winning the Premier League on Thursday at Wembley, then playing daytime Saturday and winning that event as well. Desipte suffering a heavy cold he still found the energy to come down to make an appearance. I cannot thank them all enough."

Tickets were £5 to play Gary Anderson who arrived in town straight from a win in The Players' Championship in Crawley. He defeated Terry Jenkins 6-3 in the final at the K2 Centre.

A £3 ticket paid for the chance to play Adrian and Justin in a knockout competition.

There was also a barbecue and raffle with all proceeds going to the Children with Cancer Fund.
