Steeplejacks solve the problem of removing clock faces in Uckfield
Steeplejacks forced to stop work last month because of difficulties removing clock faces and hands from Holy Cross Church, Uckfield, have now succeeded with the task.
Yesterday with scaffolding in place they swung around the tower to remove the remaining faces for renovation.
Thanks to Ron Hill for these photographs. Pictured at the top of the tower and suspended by ropes to remove one of the faces is Paul Silk of Wiltshire Steeplejacks.
Here is a link to other pictures Ron took when the steeplejacks tried before with only ladders to help them.
