Update on Uckfield crime figures
There were 17 anti-social behaviour incidents, two burglaries and 47 “other incidents” in Uckfield during September.
The figures were reported at a meeting of Uckfield Town Council by PC Cathy Codling.
She said the burglaries were particularly unfortunate as this type of crime was now unusual for the town.
Minutes of the full town council meeting say parking issues remain a priority and fixed penalty notices for such offences are still being issued.
The minutes continue: “It was generally agreed that there was no easy ‘fix’ for this particular problem, but assurances were given that the police would continue to concentrate on parking."
* PC Codling warned that police officers were no longer able to park at the police station in Uckfield and so were having to park in surrounding residential roads which may cause conflict with some neighbours.
* Twenty-two people signed up to a police community messaging system when a sign-up day was held at the Tesco store, Uckfield, on September 29. Other sign-up sessons are likely to be held.
* PC Codling also reported on the success of a Quality Street Day of Action in Downsview Crescent, Uckfield. Here is the story Uckfield News carried at the time.
