Uckfield cupcake-maker delivers birthday treat to Davina McCall
October is proving to be a great month for the owner of Uckfield business Ruby Noodle Cupcakes.
Sophie Adams was over the moon when her cupcakes caught the eye of top magazine Vogue then at the weekend she completed her biggest-ever cupcake bouquet and hand-delivered it to the home of television celebrity Davina McCall.
Sky Entertainment found Sophie when looking for a cupcake maker who could deliver to the star’s East Sussex home. They asked for a huge birthday bouquet and Sophie’s first thoughts were that she wouldn’t be able to do it but she quickly rose to the challenge.
The request was for something vibrant with the wow factor and because it was a sunny day Sophie chose a summery theme, yellows, oranges and a touch of hot pink with flavours of tangerine, peach and marshmallow. There were 19 cupcakes in the bouquet.
Sophie was amazed to realise she was speaking to Davina as she arranged delivery and eventually handed the bouquet to the star’s husband, former Pet Rescue presenter Matthew Robinson.
“It was a shame I didn’t meet Davina in person because I am a big fan but I do hope to hear what she thought about the bouquet,” said Sophie.
“I have had email conversations with her boss’s office and they said they were absolutely stunned when they saw the bouquet. They were so impressed they gave me more money than I had quoted.”
