Demolition of St Michael's Convent
Demolition of St Michael's Convent, Uckfield, is well under way.
Paul Watson has compiled a history of the building. Thanks to Peter Ferguson from the Preservation Society who has filled a gap in our knowledge about what the building was used for in the 20s and 30s.
Peter contacted Paul following an appeal for information and says the book Bygone Uckfield by Barbara Fuller and Betty Turner says: "Between the wars it was run as a preparatory school called St Michael's College."
