Dial-a-ride transport service could be extended to include Uckfield

A dial-a-ride transport service could be extended to include parts of Uckfield, Buxted, Hadlow Down and Rotherfield.

North Wealden Community Transport Partnership is to receive £10,200 towards financing their Eastbourne Dial a Ride door-to-door shopping service which they are planning to extend into the Uckfield area.

The grant is being given by East Sussex County Council which has invested nearly £50,000 in community transport schemes across the county with larger portions of money going to set up new schemes.

Also benefiting is Age Concern in Uckfield which has received £500 towards a service which helps elderly people with transport to hospitals and clinics.

Thirteen applications for funding were considered and of them seven were approved.
