£15,000 diamond ring found in Uckfield High Street

A diamond ring valued at between £15,000 and £20,000 has been found in Uckfield High Street.

Police say a member of the public found the ring, which appears to have been run over, on Saturday morning, March 5.

The six carat diamond platinum ring has been examined by a jeweller and is being kept in a safe.

Sgt Darren Lynch, from Wealden's Neighbourhood Response Team said: "Although the ring is slightly out of shape where it appears to have been run over the stone is still intact and undamaged."

Sgt Lynch said the police were anxious to trace the owner of the ring.

If you can help with information about the ring please call 0845 6070 999 quoting serial 0316 of March 7.
