Uckfield at work, rest and play is to be the theme of the parade in this year's town festival.
Organisers are hoping to involve schools, youth groups, businesses, churches and special needs groups in making figures representing all aspects of life in Uckfield.
They also hope the creations will be displayed in the weeks before the Big Day when the procession will take place.
Clare Summons, director of creativity and community at Uckfield Community Technology College will co-ordinate work with primary schools and Brighton-based arts group Same Sky will help community groups take part.
