Plans to build flats behind shops
Plans have been submitted to build seven flats in three-storey accommodation behind shops in Uckfield High Street.
The shops, Chatfield and Son, All Wrapped up, Cristobel Engraved Glassware and Red Box Travel would be retained without alteration, according to a planning application before Wealden District Council.
The rear of the site, described in documents submitted with the application as having been neglected over many years, fronts Bell Farm Lane which is accessed from Bell Lane.
The ground floor would include a lobby, a plant room accommodating a water treatment tank providing recyclable water system for the flats, access to a refuse and recycling store and cycle storage.
There would be three two-bedroom flats on the first floor and four one-bedroom flats on the second floor. The plan has been submitted by NOS 6 Ltd.
