Multi-purpose games area closer to being built in growing south Uckfield
A multi-use games area is moving closer to being built in the growing south area of Uckfield.
The town council has been thinking for some time about providing a multi-use games area near the Victoria Pleasure Ground .
The existing tennis court was originally designated but now Le Tennis has been given permission to develop its proposals for the area.
Councillors have been told that a multi-use games area can also prove additional sports use such as street snooker and pool panels.
It might also be possible to use spoil from the development to provide a BMX track which would help keep youngsters on the bikes out of Boothland Wood.
The council intends to apply for grants so a site at New Barn can be developed.
