Plans for new ladies' changing facilities at Piltdown Golf Club
Update on Sunday, February 20, 2011: This planning application has been approved.
New ladies’ changing facilities could be provided at Piltdown Golf Club if plans before Wealden Council are approved.
The proposal is to convert a disused manager’s flat on the first floor.
The club building is a Grade 2 listed Sussex farmhouse with the front section thought to be about 300 years old.
There are also more modern flat and pitched roof extensions to the rear and sides, according to documents submitted with the planning application.
Plans include removing two external timber staircases and an old chimney on the rear elevation. A number of new windows will be installed and others blocked up. The work would not affect the listed part of the building.
There are also plans to extend the entrance porch making it two-storey to house a new internal staircase. “This will also provide better disabled facilities and the external paving will be replaced,” say planning documents.
