Plans for new health facilities

New health facilities are to be provided across East Sussex - including at Uckfield - by the NHS.

The NHS and Wealden Council have just announced plans for a new health centre at Polegate, along with six new council homes.

And the chairman of the NHS East Sussex Downs and Weald said there were plans for further new premises at Sovereign Harbour, Uckfield and Peacehaven and to develop services at Seaford.

GP practice buildings are to be built at Stone Cross, in Eastbourne and at Ringmer while another new building is to open in Hartfield this week, according to Mr John Barnes, chairman of the NHS East Sussex Downs and Weald.

A new health centre is also due to open at Eastbourne Railway Station in the middle of November, offering a 'walk-in' service seven days a week from 8am to 8pm.
