New Uckfield footpath on agenda
Future management of the Hempstead Meadows nature reserve in Uckfield is to be discussed at a public meeting next week.
One item on the agenda is a possible path below Roman Way and Ironstone Way on the Hempstead Fields Estate.
The meeting is to be held at the Civic Centre in Uckfield on Thursday, June 10, at 7.30pm.
Two days later on Saturday, June 12, volunteers are invited to help pull up invasive Himalayan Balsam which is a threat to the habitat.
The working party will meet at 10am at the reserve entrance to the rear of the Co-op car park.
Next month, on Saturday, July 17, there will be an open day at the reserve with guided walks, displays and refreshments supplied by the Uckfield Rotary Club.
