Local History Group talks in Uckfield to be wound up
It looks as if Local History Group talks in Uckfield are to be wound up.
The latest newsletter of the Uckfield & District Preservation Society says a lack of help in running meetings along with increasing expenses and small attendances mean they cannot go on.
Chairman Jennifer Bellsham-Revell said urgent requests for assistance in the newsletter, particularly for the Local History Group, failed to generate a response.
She added: “We have had some wonderful meetings enriching our understanding of the area and I sincerely hope that there may be an opportunity to resume in some form in the future."
The annual general meeting of the preservation society takes place in Bridge Cottage, Uckfield, on Friday, June 10, at 7.30pm.
