Police cheque goes towards planting scheme at Holy Cross School, Uckfield
Police have presented a cheque for £350 towards a colourful and scented planting scheme outside classrooms at Holy Cross School in Uckfield.
The cheque, along with a plaque to mark the occasion, came from the Police Property Fund and was handed over at an assembly yesterday by PC Peter Cook, neighbourhood schools officer for the Wealden Neighbourhood Policing Team.
The aim of the planting scheme is to brighten the playground with year-round colour. There are also new playground markings.
Holy Cross has a gardening club for pupils and that is proving to be highly popular.
Our pictures were taken by Ron Hill. The one above shows a pupil holding the plaque and below school caretaker Bob Burchett and PC Peter Cook can be seen with more children.
