Exhibition on housing sites to take place in Uckfield next month
A six-week public consultation on possible new housing sites across the Wealden district is due to start on Monday.
One of the 12 potential “strategic development areas” being put forward by the council is for land to the west of Uckfield, between the Victoria Pleasure Ground and the by-pass.
As part of the consultation, four weekend exhibitions are scheduled across the district, with officers on hand to help the public.
These will be held on Saturday, February 4, at Crowborough and Hailsham and Saturday, February 11, at Uckfield and Polegate.
The Uckfield exhibition will be held at the Ashdown Room, Civic Centre, from 10am to 1pm.
If the suggestion for development west of Uckfield is finally accepted, 1,000 new homes could be built. Read an earlier story about the possible development here.
