Plans for canine hydrotherapy centre at Piltdown farm

Plans for a canine hydrotherapy centre at a Piltdown farm, near Uckfield, are before Wealden Council.

The centre, at Ashgrove Farm, accessed off the A272 would include a dog pool to speed the recovery and aid the mobility of an injured dog and to maintain fitness for healthy dogs.

The planning application is for change of use of a unit that was previously used for light industrial purposes. Other buildings at the farm are also used as offices or for light industry. There is also a farm shop.

The application building is in the southern part of a rectangular-shaped building to the western boundary of the site. It is single-storey with white brick walls under a pitched roof. It has floor space of 182 sq m.

There will be no changes to the outside of the building. Inside, according to planning documents, there will be office space, a dog room, pool and waiting area.

There would be a maximum of eight appointments with each taking an hour. Owners would bring their dogs, stay with them and leave after the appointment.

The applicants are Ms and Miss S. and F. Tovey, of Mutton Hall Hill, Heathfield.
