'Inspirational' Sheila praised by MP
MP Charles Hendry has paid a glowing tribute to Sheila Charlesworth of Uckfield Volunteer and Information Centre (UVIC).
He said: 'Sheila is a completely inspirational person, who has brought together so many volunteers in this area. Without her dedication and work, so much of this work simply could not happen.'
The Wealden MP was speaking at the Awards for Volunteers, arranged by UVIC. Mr Hendry said: 'The volunteers in our community are the real community heroes. They are the people who really make things happen and who constantly give up so much of their own time to make life better for others.
'We are all incredibly indebted to such an army of helpers, who make sure a real difference, every single day, to so many people.'
