County considers selling land at Cross in Hand
Nearly seven acres of land at Woodborough, Cross in Hand, once bought by East Sussex County Council to make way for a road widening scheme, looks set to be sold.
The land along the B2102 was acquired through a Compulsory Purchase Order in 1935 but the road widening scheme was abandoned.
As part of the same scheme land was also acquired at Warren Lane, Brittenden Lane and the road running to the east of Possingworth Manor House.
Now East Sussex County Council's lead member for corporate resources is being recommended to declare the land surplus to requirements and authorise its disposal at not less than market value.
Money raised would go towards funding the county council's capital programme.
Here is a link more information including maps. The land being considered for sale is coloured pink.
