Official recognition for new Uckfield Leos Club
Uckfield Leos Club was officially recognised at a 'formation ceremony' on Saturday organised by the Uckfield Lions Club.
The aim of the Leos, who are based at Uckfield Community Technology College, is to encourage students to get involved in helping their community. They have already raised more than £200 for charity and are planning more events to support local groups.
The Uckfield Lions thanked Pru Rowntree and Clare Summons from UCTC for helping to get the club set up and wished the Leos every success in their future fund-raising.
In our photograph, which was taken by Ron Hill, are, standing, from the left, Pru Rowntree from UCTC, Lions District Leo advisor Steve Carley, Uckfield Lions president Lynne Ireland, Lions district governor Mike Howes and Uckfield Lion Chris Sherwood.
The Leos seated are, from the left, Ray Vincent, Philippa Harkness, Rebecca Walter, Ellie Thackway (president), Scott Macdonald (treasurer) and Emily Elston.
