Classroom could go on pool site
A new temporary classroom unit could be placed on the site of an old swimming pool at Manor Primary School, Uckfield, if a planning application is approved.
The application seeks to replace an ‘old dilapidated’ timber framed classroom which provides dedicated accommodation for pupils with autistic spectrum disorder and includes facilities for teaching, therapy and hygiene.
The aim is to keep the new classroom on site for five years with the ground area concrete-paved afterwards with planting tubs on it.
Documents submitted with the application, from East Sussex County Council Children’s Services, say funds are not available to provide permanent accommodation but the situation will continue to be reviewed as and when funding becomes available.
