Proposal for nine new homes in Maresfield
Nine homes could be built on land between Prospect Cottage and Selhurst in Park Farm Lane, Maresfield.
A planning application is before Wealden Council.
Documents with it say the intention has been to design a high quality development that responds to the site’s setting within and alongside the conservation area and within sight of St Bartholomew’s Church.
A mix of homes would include affordable homes for rent.
If approved there will be a two-bedroom coach house, a three-bedroom house, two detached four-bedroom houses and two detached five bedroom houses for private sale.
There will also be a row of three two-bedroom houses for “affordable rent”.
The site is close to the centre of Maresfield with St Bartholomew’s to the north and the recreation ground to the south.
The land is described as being unused and unmanaged and overgrown with scrub.
“The applicant has purchased access rights to Park Farm Lane to gain access to the application site. A second access is available from High Street between numbers 22-25 and Church Cottage,” says a design and access statement.
