More detail about 80 new homes at Park Farm, Maresfield
More detail about plans to build 80 homes on land at Park Farm, Maresfield, is due to be considered by Wealden councillors on Thursday.
The council's development control, north, sub-committee is being recommended to approve reserved matters relating to an outline scheme which has already been given planning permission.
Layout, scale and appearance of the buildings and landscaping are all to be taken into account.
A report to councillors says: “It is considered that the development proposals would be sympathetic to the local context, successfully avoiding the imposition of “corporate standard housing types” and subject to the use of appropriate detailing, selection of materials and landscape specification will create a development that is locally distinctive.”
The 7.7 acre site is on the southern edge of Maresfield next to the Field End residential area to the south of Batts Bridge road.
It would be accessed from Field Road. The A22 Maresfield bypass runs to the south west of the site.
Twenty-four of the homes would be affordable. They would include two one-bedroom houses, four two-bedroom apartments, nine two-bedroom houses, eight three-bedroom houses and one four-bedroom house. The report to councillors says a further 20 homes would be small. There would be landscaped open space and children’s play areas.
The full report can be seen on the Wealden Council website.
