Plans for yurts at Nutley refused
Plans seeking retrospective permission to allow the use of three yurts – strong circular tents traditionally used by nomads in the steppes of Central Asia – at a site in Nutley have been refused.
The aim was a provide a ‘small scale environmentally biased camping experience’ at Bunters Field in Bell Lane but Wealden Council said the scheme was ‘inappropriate and unjustified’ in this remote and unspoilt location within a sensitive landscape setting.
The council also said the development would also result in increased levels of noise and disturbance adversely impacting on residential amenities of surrounding occupiers.
