Plans for expansion next to tea room at Oast Farm, Buxted
Plans to add prefabricated buildings beside and behind a tea room at Oast Farm, Buxted, have been submitted to Wealden Council.
The rear extension would give space for storage of dry and frozen goods, fresh vegetables, cans, bottles and paper items and spare chairs and tables. The applicant, Louis Keating, says he would also like to allocate space for staff in the area.
The side extension would accommodate the dishwasher to allow more room for food preparation in the kitchen. It would also include a locked storage area for cleaning materials and chemicals.
The plans also include adding a canopy at the front of the tearoom, known as the Strawberry Fayre Tea Room, to allow customers to sit outside even when it is raining.
