Uckfield sixth-former wins place at prestigious music master class
Uckfield sixth-former Oliver Muxworthy has won the chance to attend a prestigious residential master class with the reknowned concert pianist Richard Meyrick.
The 18-year-old, from Framfield, was one of two students chosen, following a workshop in Brighton, to attend a four-day course in Bath which will be followed by a private recital in London at the Blüthner Piano Shop for the sponsor of the classes, Mr Harvey McGrath.
Oliver, who attends Uckfield Community Technology College, said Richard Meyrick conducted the Pianoman workshop at Brighton on Monday and it was after the workshop that he received a phone call inviting him to the master class.
He said: "I am thrilled and excited by the opportunity. Richard is such an inspirational player and an excellent teacher."
Oliver plans to continue studying music at university after A-Levels at the college. He is pictured below playing at the UCTC spring concert.
