Pie maker could move to Nutley
Former offices in Nutley could be used for the manufacture of pies.
A building adjacent to Meadow View in Down Street was used as offices for a building company based at the property.
But interest has been expressed in using the premises fo manufacture pies which would be delivered in bulk to local distributors.
A planning application has been submitted to Wealden Council by Mr Roger Best.
A design and access statement submitted with it says Mr Best and the person interested in operating the business have met a representative from the Environmental Health Department and it was confirmed that subject to minor internal re-arrangements the building will be suitable for the purpose.
The statement continues: "It is understood that two people will operate the business and it is anticipated that the pies produced at the premises will be taken by one daily visit to a distributor based in a local town. No foodstuffs produced at the premises will be sold on site."
