New Uckfield shop promises edgy but classic women's wear
Edgy, but classic, women’s wear will be on offer at a shop due to open in Uckfield in September.
Pilgrim is taking over the premises most recently occupied by Zamboo. Before that the shop was used to promote new homes at Spring Meadow, off Hempstead Lane.
As well as clothes there will be some items of home decor at Pilgrim such as candles and home-made cushions.
Shop owner Mercedes Hall, a former Uckfield Community Technology College pupil, said she hoped to decorate the premises in the style of an Edwardian study.
Her mother Liza Barnes is able to help with the theme because she runs an antiques shop at Nutley.
“We will be selling contemporary clothing from £25, aiming for the independent woman. It will be quite edgy but classic because we want people to be able to keep it for more than one season,” said Mercedes.
She is pleased with the location which is easily accessible just across the road from the Luxford Car Park.
