Diabetes book sells fast for Uckfield author
Uckfield author Trisha Bridger is still seeing her book, Why Can’t I Fly?, sell like hot cakes.
The latest success came on Saturday at a book signing at Waterstones in Haywards Heath where all the books the shop had in stock were sold in 45 minutes.
It made her the fastest selling author in the shop since the Forces Sweetheart Dame Vera Lynn, of Ditchling, was there.
This was Trisha’s third visit to the Haywards Heath store and she will be back again in early December.
Why Can’t I Fly? was inspired by the author’s daughter Niamh (now nine) who has type one diabetes. Although not a story about diabetes itself, it was written to raise awareness of the illness and £1 from each book sold goes to Diabetes UK.
Trisha has completed 34 book signings across the south east with more planned in the weeks ahead. She has also been visiting schools and nurseries to read from the book.
A follow-up book has been penned. Now I can Fly? should be in the shops next year.
If anyone would like Trisha to do an author visit to their nursery or school contact her on info@wubblybubblybooks.co.uk
