Wealden Line Campaign hits out idea for new Uckfield road
The Wealden Line Campaign which is pressing for a railway line between Uckfield and Brighton has hit out at county council plans for new road in the centre of Uckfield.
The campaign says this would threaten the Brighton Main Line 2 idea and that Network Rail is set to defend the railway project.
An article on the Wealden Line Campaign website says the county scheme is a "thinly-disguised revival of ESCC's notorious and much-criticised gyratory".
