Nutley school plans to provide wooden shelter for parents
A wooden shelter could be provided at Nutley Primary School for parents waiting for children after school in wet weather.
Plans have been submitted to Wealden Council to build the shelter along with a new gate, seating and bicycle rack on the west boundary of the school.
Documents say the aim is to encourage walking to school.
The shelter would have open sides and a flat roof and the gate would be a hardwood stable door-style and arch-shaped to echo the school front door and window openings.
The application says: “We have no plans for additional landscaping, the shelter and fencing will blend in with existing foliage on the site.”
