Solar panels will help heat school

Additional solar water heating panels are likely to be added to the roof of the new main entrance into High Hurstwood Primary School.

They will supplement panels previously approved for the building and be positioned to gain maximum benefit from the winter sun. The aim is to use sustainable energy, via solar panels, to provide hot water heating.

East Sussex County Council has been told by Wealden District Council that it has no objections to the proposal.

* Shadow energy minister, Wealden MP Charles Hendry is due to open a renewable energy centre today which has been built by Paynes Heating and Plumbing in Blackboys.

The centre is open to the public and different systems used to generate renewable energy are being demonstrated there. Read more.
