Plans for empty Uckfield shop
Plans to use an an empty shop at the top of Uckfield High Street as a hot food takeaway have been submitted to Wealden Council.
The building at 238 High Street was last occupied by an estate agency but has been empty since the end of May this year. Next door to the north east are another hot food takeaway and Freeman Forman estate agents. To the south west are a barber and dental surgery.
Documents submitted with the planning application, from Mr Imran Ali, say there has been no other interest in the premises.
If the change of use is approved the shop front, window and doorway to the High Street conservation area would remain the same but the inside would be decorated and a new sign provided.
* Plans for a new home to be attached to number 61 Manor Way, Uckfield, have been approved by Wealden District Council.
