Domino's Pizza have been given permission to open a takeaway at the former Wine Rack shop in Uckfield High Street.
Objectors said there were too many fast food, estate agents and charity shops in the town but Wealden councillors approved an application for change of use of the premises.
Their decision was made at a meeting of the council's planning sub-committee north on Thursday, February 11. Officers had recommended approval saying the use would make some contribution to the viability and vitality of Uckfield Town Centre.
