Duddleswell Tea Rooms near Maresfield could be extended

Duddleswell Tea Rooms on the Ashdown Forest could be extended to double the floor area of the kitchen.

The proposal would provide ‘much needed additional space for storage, preparation and cooking facilities’ according to a planning application before Wealden Council.

The application was submitted by Mrs Tanya Tabassi and a design an access statement says the extension would allow the business to be expanded to include an improved menu with more variety and hot food and more jobs.

The statement says the applicants have owned and run the Tea Rooms as a catering business since 2006 however the size of the existing kitchen, itself a single-storey extension built around 1984, restricts their ability to provide the range and quality of service they would prefer.
