How teachers' strike will affect Uckfield schools
Most students at Uckfield Community Technology College will get an extra day off today (Thursday) because of strike action by members of two teaching unions.
It is part of a nationwide dispute involving members of the National Union of Teachers (NUT) and the Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ATL).
They are in dispute with the government over changes to pensions arrangements.
Here’s what is happening at schools in the Uckfield area:
UCTC: The school will be closed for years 7 to 11 inclusive. It will be open for year 12 students.
Holy Cross: The school expects to be open as usual.
St Philip’s: The school is open for children in reception and years 1, 3 and 4.
Manor: Open as normal
Rocks Park: Open as normal
Harlands: Open as normal
Little Horsted: Open as normal
Buxted: Open as normal
Hadlow Down: Closed
Framfield: Open as normal – it’s sports day
Blackboys: Open as normal
Fletching: Open as normal
