Scaffolding comes down from flats

Scaffolding comes down from flats

Scaffolding is being removed from 39 flats being built on the corner of The Drive and Lealands Drive in Uckfield.

Services are being connected to the site with the work scheduled to be finished in the autumn.

This joint project involves Wealden District Council, East Sussex County Council and Saxon Weald Housing Association.

The homes – 29 for rent at affordable levels and ten for purchase on a shared equity scheme – are known as Extra Care flats.

The development is taking place on the site of the former Lealands Court flats which were demolished. A giant crane still dominates the site and can be seen from across the town and surrounding villages.

See, below, how the flats are looking now. Follow this link to see how they looked swathed in scaffolding.
