New chairman of Wealden Council to be elected at Uckfield meeting

Uckfield is to host the annual meeting of Wealden District Council next week.

Business includes electing a chairman, vice-chairman and leader. Members of committees will also be announced.

The meeting will be held at the Civic Centre on Wednesday at 10am.

It has been proposed and seconded that Jonica Fox, who represents Cross-in-Hand and Five Ashes, previously vice-chairman of the council, is chairman.

Brian Redman, representing Mayfield, is proposed as vice-chairman and Robert Standley is proposed for re-election as leader.

Chantel Wilson was previously chairman of the council but she did not stand for re-election as a councillor.
