Beryl launches business to advise charities on governance
Former head of large charities at the Charity Commission Beryl Hobson has launched her own business, Professional Governance Services, in East Sussex.
Beryl, who will initially be based at her East Hoathly home, will advise and support charities across the UK on governance matters but hopes to work with local charities too.
Her husband Phil is rector at East Hoathly and the couple have two teenage sons.
Beryl is a former chair of the East Sussex Downs and Weald PCT, a member of the Uckfield Hospital League of Friends and a trustee of the charity Womankind Worldwide.
She set up TGI, an informal church service in East Hoathly, and the Bacon Butty Club, a Sunday School.
Beryl is also helping to organise a ‘pop-up Cambodian restaurant’ in the village on March 3 to raise funds for a charity in Phnom Penh.
